Hi, I'm Susan

I'm 54 and was walking around with 197 on my 5'5 frame.

And if you had told me that I would be doing the Salsa, Foxtrot, and Swing dancing in competitions.

I would have looked at you like you were crazy lol.

But you know what?

That's what I have been doing!

Funny how things turn out

My husband and I always wanted to take dance lessons when our lives settled down after our kids were grown.

We dreamed of learning new moves and maybe dancing in some local contest because we loved it so much.

But that was just a dream.

Because of me, it's something that we may never do.

I Knew Something Had To Change For Me, But How?

I had four kids, I know such a big family these days.

They really demanded all of my time and energy just to get through the day.

Not only that with every birth came weight that I just couldn't lose.

I look at myself now and dream of the body I used to have.

I've done all the things you're supposed to do, like eat the right foods and exercise.

But this is something that becomes so hard as we get older.

Plus, our lives become so busy that we don't have time for ourselves at all.

Counting calories and spending time at the gym are the last things on my to-do list.

I felt like I reached the point of no return!

My grandkids are afraid that they would kill me, because I almost had a heart attack when I tried to play with them.

My Family? Stopped inviting me. I couldn't keep up with them, so it was better that I didn't go for walks in the first place.

My Husband? Went dancing alone. Because my knees and joints ached so badly, he knew it would just cause me too much pain.

I felt like I was losing him.

I knew he still loved me, but I wasn't the woman that he married.

I didn't want him not to live life to its full potential because he was with me.

Then something strange happened.

I was doing my weekly grocery shopping when I ran into an old friend, Joanne.

She looked amazing. So different from the last time I saw her.

She said that she had dropped 53, and I could certainly tell.

Funny thing was that I still ate the foods I always enjoyed.
